We’ve been here several times and every time has been absolutely beautiful. It’s a state park so you get all the usual benefits of that: pretty clean and well-maintained areas, camping, hiking trails, places to picnic, restrooms, etc. But, of course, the best part of this particular part of South Mountains State Park is the High Shoals Falls waterfall. Be warned: it’s a very physically taxing hike up to the top of the waterfall but if you’re able to do it, it is a gorgeous and picturesque site.
